Sedona’s red rocks are well-known around the world, but at Ambiente Sedona, they are actually not even a part of the backyard.

This adults-only hotel features 40 cube-shaped villas designed to celebrate the natural surroundings. 

Each villa, or “atrium” as the resort calls them, has floor-to-ceiling windows that offer 180-degree views of the red rocks and the Coconino National Forest. 

Even the private rooftops with firepits and chaises provide epic stargazing opportunities, as Sedona is a well-known Dark Sky Community. 

The hotel also offers direct access to the Adobe Jack Trail, a well-marked path that connects to more challenging hikes.

However, with the comforts of the cube—down bedding, an oversized soaking tub, and complimentary snacks—venturing out might be tougher than it sounds.

In an old bank building from the early 1900s, located in New York City’s NoMad neighborhood, the Fifth Avenue Hotel combines the charm of downtown and midtown Manhattan. 

Designer Martin Brudnizki has created playful and ornate interiors that reflect the opulence of the Gilded Age. 

The hotel features 153 rooms and suites, spread across the top four floors of the original building and a new 24-story tower. 

The rooms have a quirky and colorful style, with botanical wallpaper, mini bars decorated with mother-of-pearl, tiger-stripe rugs, and chandeliers adorned with colorful ornaments.

Café Carmellini, run by popular New York City chef Andrew Carmellini, is generating excitement, but you should also visit the Portrait Bar.

This wood-paneled bar offers cocktails inspired by the staff’s travels.

Try the Barrio Getsemani, a gin martini with passion fruit notes inspired by Cartagena, or the St. James, an English milk punch with gin,

Earl Grey tea, cucumber, and blackberries.

The Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo is located in a 3,000-acre protected nature reserve on Mexico’s Pacific coast. 

The Mexican owners preserved 98 percent of the jungle landscape, allowing guests to explore it through guided hikes, bike tours, night safaris led by biologists, and boat trips along six miles of coastline. 

The hotel features stunning Mexican craftsmanship, with buildings made from local marble and volcanic rock by LegoRocha architecture firm, and traditional crafts like framed textiles and handwoven hammocks in the 157 guest rooms. 

Suites are perfectly designed with private infinity pools, and some rooms are close to the spa, multiple pools, a casual taquería, and a restaurant in collaboration with renowned chef Elena Reygadas.

Outside, guests can enjoy hot and cold swimming pools, a yoga deck, firepits, and a large patio where mostly local musicians perform acoustic sets under the stars most nights.
